counting down to POP liao.. bout another 20 odd days n i've completed BMT. time seems to fly by fast even though when u r in camp. its jus tat no time is wasted n all have been put into good usage in training n stuff like tat. btw, da SIT-test, also known as situational test n my range is over. basically, i'm not left wif much to worry bout. IPPT is only a matter of mind over body now. but to run 9:44 is quite jialat lah, but nevertheless, i will give my best shot. afterall, gettin a gold will entitle u to an bonus 2 days added to yr annual leave. as for my range, i failed to hit marksman but i'm glad i exceeded my own expectations n was top in my platoon.
oh well, da only i haven cleared is the SOC. we've missed da past few lessons due to heavy rain n it had somewhat dampened my spirits, cos i've had encountered problems in clearin' da swinging trainer obstacle n practice is wad i need currently. nvr mind bout tat, i'll see wad comes along nxt week. if i'm not wrong, i'll be gng for live grenade throwing n 16km route march. lookin forward to fri cos long weekend =) hmm, jus came across this short story from an email. do read it n take care frens n loved ones. i'll cya nxt week. - Giving When It Counts - Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies, needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheek. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I Start to die right away?" Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her. Yet he was willing. |
